A beer with the name of Hobbit Juice (a Double IPA by Beer'd Brewing Co.) is sure to have a tale or two told of it. In this case, it’s a well-crafted, hop-forward beer clearly showcasing Nelson hops.

The aroma opens with light grapefruit, lemon, and Muscat grapes. Light honey malt helps... Read More

Heritage Helles by Arches Brewing is being evaluated as a Munich Helles (BJCP 4A). It poured with a burnished golden color, brilliant clarity and a wispy head of white foam. Immediately an intense herbal, spicy, grassy aroma assaults your senses with subtle rye undertones. A clean fermentation evinces no fruit production nor phenols. This beer pours a deep amber color with a tall, lingering, ivory head that never truly dissipates. However, the high level of haze... Read More
