An intense, freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice aroma with lemon and resin is the first thing that will greet your nose followed by moderate, honey-like grainy malt. Hidden underneath are light berry esters similar to strawberries.  Resin is a fairly beautiful beer with an orange-amber color and... Read More

Switchback’s Connector IPA is being judged as an American IPA (2015 BJCP Category 21A). The commercial definition of this style has been widely interpreted but consistently is a showcase for New World/American hop varieties.

Banded Oak Märzen by Banded Oak Brewing is being evaluated as a traditional Oktoberfest/Märzen (2015 BJCP Category 6A). This marzen looks the part being amber in color with near brilliant clarity but with a scant, fleeting, ivory head.

The aroma is a mixture of both malt and hops which... Read More

Honorary Girl Scout: Samo'nut Cookie by Pontoon Brewing is being evaluated as a Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer (2015 BJCP Category 30A) with the additions of lactose, coconut and chocolate all in a porter base. Not surprisingly, it’s an inky black beer with clarity that can’t be determined. No... Göller Dunkel

Göller Dunkel

Göller Dunkel, Brauerei Göller
Description

Bold notes of chocolate and coffee derived from the roasted Munich malts defines this dark lager. Yet it finishes out pleasantly on the palate with a malty sweetness and a lingering, almost savory bitter note. Remarkable for its full bodv robustness and its gentle finish, the Dunkel is easily our most popular beer in America. It has won numerous awards, from the Meininger's Gold Medal to the World Beer Award. Have fun pairing it with a spectrum of dishes, from grilled steaks to chocolate cake.

Göller Dunkel by Brauerei Göller is being evaluated as one of the original beer styles, Munich Dunkel (Category 8A in the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines).

It poured clear with a solid brown color among garnet highlights. A moderate, cream-colored head of fine bubbles is persistent and seems... Read More

How to get your jolt of morning java with a lighter beer you ask? Well, Sixpoint’s C.R.E.A.M. is a clean, blonde beer with a heavy dose of coffee. It’ll open up your nostrils with an above-average dusty, earthy coffee note with hints of bell pepper. In the background is a light, grainy, corny... Read More
