We spoke with Monday Night Brewing Brewmaster Peter Kiley about Lundi IPA.
BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
The original idea was mine. But we had to to a lot (and I mean a lot) of testing and tweaking of the recipe. It took a lot of work and a lot of help from the Monday Night Brewing team to get this one dialed in.
BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
I really appreciate how gentle, yet flavorful this beer is. It’s an IPA that will satisfy the beer nerds (like us), but also someone who may be wary of IPAs.
BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
We got into a fun, funky, French vibe in the planning, testing and tasting stages. Since Lundi is French for Monday, we leaned into it and went full Francophile.
BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
110%. This beer is an anytime/anywhere beer for me.
BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Elegant, aromatic and highly approachable.
BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
Since we’re going French, let’s say a really nice charcuterie plate. Or poutine. Because fries, cheese and gravy go with everything.
