Nite Lite by Night Shift Brewing was reviewed as a Category 1A, American Light Lager, per the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines.
All beer drinkers know about that yellow, flavorless macro lager that is produced on enormous scale. But Night Shift’s Nite Lite isn’t your dad’s light lager beer. It pours extremely clear with a golden color that sits beneath a white head of fine, persistent bubbles. The nose displays restrained grainy, cereal malt with a bit of rice-like character. Cleanly fermented, only a whiff of sulfur is noticeable without any esters. The flavor follows the aroma with an additional component of light floral and herbal hops. There’s also a bit of a mineral content in the aftertaste following the dry finish. This is a well-made, quaffable American Lager that shows a bit of character without going overboard, making for an exceptional drinking experience.
