Dr. Juice by Parish Brewing Co. is being judged as a 21b Specialty IPA, specifically of the hazy or New England iteration. 

The beer initially shows in the glass as a hazy pale yellow, nearly turbid beer with a fluffy and sticky head of shaving foam that sticks until the end.

The nose is really bright and fresh, leading with some floral esters (think rose and lavender) followed by a bright pineapple and guava note. This is then rounded out with a distinct resiny hit that reminds me of cryo powder, though it stops short of metallic. Really bright and fresh and hop-driven. No grassy notes here!

At tasting, the bitterness is really subdued and this seems further muted by the brewing process, as there is a creaminess here that leads it down that "juicy" path. I had to double-check that there is no lactose, as it really feels like there is (there does not appear to be). The flavor is driven by softer tropical flavors (think papaya, guava and pineapple). I get some mango in the finish. It really doesn't have that cryo burn, so I'm guessing it wasn't used here. The beer finishes a bit on the sweet side, due to the restrained bitterness, but it still remains super fresh and bright overall. Some light sweet cherry in to the finish as well. The mouthfeel is creamy with no astringency. Appropriate carbonation and conditioning as well. Medium-full body.

Overall, this really does tick all the boxes. I appreciated the brightness and freshness of the hops, though I like a bit more bitterness personally. But that's just me, and it really does fit the mold for modern hazy and juicy IPAs. Good stuff!
