Strawberry Margarita Gose by Gnarly Barley Brewing Co. is a gose with strawberry and lime. It was judged as a Fruit Beer (BJCP sub-style 29A).

This beer poured light pink into the glass where it set up slightly hazy, topped by a moderately dense head with excellent retention. Its aroma led off with intense lactic sour and strawberry notes and finished with subtler lime and even fainter wheat malt ones. The flavor too initially was dominated by pleasantly sour strawberry, with only fainter traces of lime, salt and wheat late in the taste. No hops were detected in the aroma or flavor profiles, consistent with the base style. Overall, the mouthfeel included a light, well-balanced, refreshing and effervescent tartness. There was neither alcohol warmth, nor astringency, nor complexity in this simple summer-friendly brew. Drinkability was high given the artful blending of all of these factors.

This very creative beer delivers exactly what the name promises: a beer version of a strawberry margarita. There was nothing in this beer to offend any beer drinker, though some looking for a more robust and fuller-flavored pint may choose to limit their intake of this lighter but expertly brewed fruity gose.
