This is a Light Lager by Motorworks Brewing is being evaluated as an American Light Lager (Category 1A) from the 2015 BJCP guidelines.

This beer poured with a yellowish gold color that was framed by a foamy white head. The brilliant clarity allowed for small champagne-like bubbles to be seen rising to the surface. These bubbles brought to mind the slogan from a sister beer style “the champagne of beers.” (Wink, wink).

A welcoming of fruity esters in the aroma was perceived, with notes of red and green apples. There’s a faint sweet corn aromatic as well and an absence of malt, which is allowed in this style of beer. Breathing deeply, you’re likely to find a very low floral hop character.

Sampled very cold per the style guidelines, very low flavor threshold with a neutral palette. Very faint corn-like flavor. A low amount of spicy and floral hops add dimension to the overall flavor while keeping it rather neutral. The finish is fruity red apple-like, just short of cider, with a long drying aftertaste.

This beer is light-bodied, with a medium-high carbonation, no warmth nor slickness. The palate sensations are pretty neutral as they should be.

A good beer for those who enjoy a light beer during summer months with a low-enough alcohol that you can have one or two after yardwork. This beer adheres to the style guidelines very well, and hits nearly all the hallmarks.
