Road 2 Ruin by Two Roads Brewing Co. is being evaluated as a Double IPA (Category 22A) via the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines.

Road 2 Ruin Double IPA pours a fairly clear deep, bright gold with a creamy white head that lingers. It features a prominent aroma of tropical fruit, floral and a small bit of resiny hops. A medium-light grainy, bready malt emerges behind with an impression of candy-like sweetness as it warms. The hop aroma shifts slightly to include mixed citrus fruit. Light, spicy alcohol develops late. The flavor has a moderately high and slightly muddled floral and mixed citrus hop character, with a light grainy maltiness sneaking in behind. An aggressive hop bitterness emerges mid-palate and grows as it passes through the dry finish into the aftertaste. Light alcohol warming, a medium-full body and moderate carbonation rounds out this DIPA.

For you hop heads out there, the bitterness level tends to grab you quickly in the flavor, but could be toned down slightly to allow the nuances of the beer to be discovered. Regardless, this is a very tasty double IPA with many positive attributes.
