This beer poured a clear amber color with a medium-white head. Its aroma featured citrusy orange and grapefruit elements -- very reminiscent of Cascade hops. A subtle touch of bready malt was also noted behind the hop fragrances. The citrus hop aroma carried over into the flavor profile and provided the bulk of the character, as the style would dictate. Though a bit dry, a firm pleasant bitterness lingered into the finish. This beer was medium-bodied with appropriate levels of both carbonation and alcohol. A classic example of the original West Coast American Pale Ales first introduced in the early 1980s.
