Thomas Creek and 13 Stripes Cali-Common Collaboration

Thomas Creek Brewery and 13 Stripes Brewery came together as a Brew Team in late 2016 to work on their Carolina version of a California Common Craft Beer.  The result is nothing short of outstanding.  This craft beer is anything but common.  Brewed to show the ongoing collaborative spirit among craft brewers.  It could be a perfect Super Bowl sipping beer due to its drinkability and refreshing taste. This craft beer comes in with an ABV of 4% and IBU of 45 which attests to its drinkability, tasting moderately rich in malt character with a dry finish. The malt will jump at you, with bread, toast, caramel and some graininess, but it is not heavy in aroma or flavor. The hop bittering is firm enough, but balanced to not overwhelm the beer lover.
 
Historically, California Commons date back to the California Gold Rush during the 1840's.  It is truly an American style beer.  At one time the San Francisco Bay Area had dozens of "steam beer" brew houses.  It was found almost everywhere along the West Coast until the middle 1940's.  Those 100 years of brewing style are not lost on American brewers.
 
Fast forward to now, we almost should call this a "Carolina Cali - Common." The brewers at Thomas Creek and 13 Stripes huddled to discuss a beer worth brewing for a collaboration.  When they broke the huddle this was their collective result.  It will pair up with lighter foods such as seafood and salads at the same time paired perfectly with your favorite hamburger or heavy sandwich.  It's drinkability will lend itself to having more than just one during a day or evening of revelry!
 
Thomas Creek & 13 Stripes Cali-Common Beer will be available in 15.5 gallon kegs from January 31st until this ten barrel lot of brew is enjoyably drank at restaurants and tap rooms throughout the Thomas Creek foot print of South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Pennsylvania.
The Brewery release will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.  Thomas Creek and 13 Stripes will come together at Thomas Creek Brewery that day to celebrate this Cali-Common Beer.  We will have a food truck and fun for all Craft Beer lovers.  Pints for on premise consumption will be available along with 32 and 64 ounce Growlers to go!
