SFY – Threes Brewing – 95 Rating

BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
I wrote the recipe but the recipe is only the starting point with any beer. To my mind, careful execution of every step along the way is far more important than a piece of paper. Equal credit goes to Joel Ford our brewer who carries out many of these steps.  

BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
SFY is the beer formally know as Superf*ckingyawn. The name is intended to poke fun at the fixation certain elements of the craft beer community have with double IPA - and the tendency of these people (You People!) to impose the lens of double IPA on every other beer style.

BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
SFY would certainly make life on the desert island interesting but I would probably go for something a little less aggressive. I'm a big believer that there is a right place and a right time for every kind of beer - everything from most widely available macro lagers to the whitest-of-white-whales. If I I was forced to make the choice of bringing one beer, I would bring our Vliet Pils to the island.    

BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
Bacon Cheeseburger and french fries.
