Highland Brewing Co.'s Cold Mountain Spiced Winter Ale Set to Kick Off the 2023 Holiday Season with a Spectacular Release Event

Highland Brewing Co., a renowned Asheville, North Carolina brewery with a rich history spanning 27 years, is gearing up to usher in the holiday season in style with the eagerly anticipated release of Cold Mountain 2023. This year, the festivities promise to be bigger and better than ever, featuring a ticketed weekend packed with celebration sessions, live music, disc golf, and volleyball.

“Cold Mountain is our most anticipated beer release of the year,” said Nikki Mitchell, Highland’s Vice-President of Brand Development. “It’s the culmination of nine months of recipe development, planning new spin-offs, and exciting taproom festivities.” 

Mark your calendars for Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 12, as Highland Brewing's East Asheville brewery Taproom and Meadow come alive with Cold Mountain opening weekend celebrations. To gain access to the property, attendees will require an access pass, ensuring an exclusive experience. The weekend will be divided into sessions, offering something for everyone. Friday and Saturday will host two sessions: a family-friendly afternoon session from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and an adult-only 21+ evening session from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. On Sunday, there will be a single session from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

But that's not all! Highland Brewing's Downtown Taproom, located within the S&W Market, will be open throughout the weekend and is accessible without an access pass. The Downtown Taproom will be the place to be, featuring live music, a wide selection of Cold Mountain beer variations on draft, and a signature Cold Mountain cocktail to mark the release of this much-anticipated seasonal beer.

For beer enthusiasts, there's even more to be excited about. Highland Brewing will be offering pre-ordered beer packs with a delectable selection of brewery-exclusive drafts. Favorites such as Coconut Cold Mountain and Chocolate Hazelnut Cold Mountain will be available, along with an extremely limited supply of barrel-aged Cold Mountain in wax-dipped 500ml bottles.

This year, there's an exciting addition to the lineup: the Cold Mountain Variety Pack. This enticing package contains eight 16-ounce cans of fan-favorite variations, including Coconut Cold Mountain, Imperial Cold Mountain, and Chocolate Hazelnut Cold Mountain. To ensure you get your hands on these treasures, daily allotments of Cold Mountain cases and the new variety pack can be pre-ordered online for pickup on a designated day between November 10-12.

For those who prefer an a la carte approach, including the sought-after barrel-aged Cold Mountain bottles, they will also be available on-site. Please note that these items are not eligible for pre-order. However, there will be an allotment available for pre-order and pick-up without the need for access passes on Monday, November 13.

Highland's Downtown Taproom will keep the Cold Mountain celebration going with packaged beer available to-go and draft options, complete with a Cold Mountain flight, throughout the release weekend. If you can't make it to the event, fear not! Cold Mountain Winter Ale will become available in stores across Highland's distribution footprint starting on Monday, November 13.
