Creature Comforts Bibo Pilsner Hitting Shelves in May

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. has announced it will be canning Bibo, an easy-drinking Pilsner, for release on May 7th. Bibo clocks in at 4.9 percent ABV and features Saaz, Sterling and Moteuka hops.

This will be the third year-round offering Creature Comforts has canned, as well as the 4th new can to debut in 2016.

Here is the release from Creature Comforts:

ATHENS (April 25, 2016) – Creature Comforts Brewing Company will package its year-round Pilsner, Bibo [Bēbō], in cans for the first time in early May. Bibo will join Tropicália (American IPA) and Athena (Berliner Weisse) as the third year-round offering to be made available in cans.

Bibo cans are set to release in Athens the weekend of May 7 during the Twilight Criterium–an annual series of local amateur and professional bicycle races that attracts cyclists from all over the nation and the world to Athens, GA. In an ongoing effort to remain invested in the Athens community, Creature Comforts returned for a third consecutive year as a sponsor for the event. “We’ve been waiting two years to release Bibo in cans and we’re finally able to do it after our recent increase in fermentation capacity,” said Co-Founder and Head Brewer, David Stein. “The local community has really supported Tropicália and Athena cans and we are thrilled to offer Bibo as our third year-round can offering.”

The brewery worked with Athens-based graphic design company Young Athenians in order to design the can label for Bibo.

“For this label, we took inspiration from the classic design of European Pilsners, which are often a more traditional style with colors including white, gold blue, silver, red and green,” said Creature Comforts Co-Founder and CEO, Chris Herron. “The beer itself is a classic style with our creative twist and we think we were able to reflect that accurately in the packaging.”

Bibo is a dry and quenching Pilsner brewed with Czech Saaz, Sterling and Moteuka hops. It comes in at 4.9-percent ABV and has an herbal and floral noble hop character with a light cracker grain flavor.

Bibo cans will be available first in the Athens market and at the brewery the weekend of May 7, and then in the Atlanta market shortly thereafter.
