BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
This recipe has been around since the origin of our brewery nearly 200 years ago.
BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
The green apple aroma in the nose and the refreshingly wild flavors in the taste.
BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
We were inspired by wine making, where the product is dated by vintage.
BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
Absolutely. If I could only bring one beer to a desert island, this would be it.
BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
I don't think so; it's too complex with aromas and flavors of caramel, green apple, sour cherries and notes of honey and oak coupled with hints of vanilla and liquorice, resembling a matured Oloroso Sherry wine.
BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
This beer ideally goes with any meat that has a high fat content, so a ribeye steak or a nice piece of pork with cherry sauce. Smoked fish, such as eel, goes very well too as the oak really shines through.
