Two Roads Brewing Company in Stratford, CT has announced the newest entry in its limited-release "Road Less Traveled" series.
This big, 8.9 percent ABV saison is brewed with actual flowers "such as lavender, chamomile, calendula, rose hips and hops (yes, they're flowers too)."
The beer will release on draft and in 750ml bottles on April 25.
Here is the release from Two Roads:
Two Roads newest beer is in full bloom this April. Brewmaster and Chief Gardener Phil Markowski has created a unique beer befitting of their "Road Less Traveled" mantra: Roads Garden Saison with Flowers.
An 8.9% ABV saison, Roads Garden is made with aromatic, edible and organically grown flowers such as lavender, chamomile, calendula, rose hips and hops (yes, they're flowers too). This luscious bouquet imparts a distinct aroma and flavor while retaining a background of tropical fruit notes typical of a saison.
“I’ve had a blast working on Roads Garden, our latest Road Less Traveled Series brew," said Brewmaster Markowski. "It has been fun experimenting with different flowers and creating a beer that is one-of-a-kind and unique to Two Roads. I am proud and excited to have this unusual beer become available to all our markets in the coming months.”
Two Roads recommends pairing with light pork dishes, chicken and salads. Dining al fresco to enjoy the budding flora of the spring season is also strongly encouraged.
For a sneak peek of this beer and some other surprises, Two Roads will be hosting a Garden Party on April 23rd in their hopyard at the brewery. There will be live music, spring activities, and more! See website for details and ticket information: http://tworoadsbrewing.com/events/view/1770
Roads Garden is available on draft and 750mL bottles in the Two Roads tasting room and select accounts in the markets where Two Roads brands are sold starting April 25th.
