Ballast Point Rebrands Calico and Yellowtail

Ballast Point has announced a brand refresh for its Yellowtail Pale Ale and Calico Amber Ale

Yellowtail has always been a Kölsch, but it was called a Pale Ale since the brewery's inception because brewery founders thought that Kölsch was too technical a term for beer drinkers. Yellowtail's name is now California Kölsch, which was actually the beer's original name before it was nixed in favor of Yellowtail.

Calico has been renamed California Amber, and has also been given new artwork by Paul Elder, the man responsible for all of Ballast Point's label designs.
